Spix Foundation

Implementing Partner 24 Countries DPI-Ed / RESPECT

TETA is the implementing partner for the Spix Foundation in Africa, responsible for legal, personnel and operations across the continent. This is TETA's most significant partnership, representing a continental-scale commitment to transforming education technology infrastructure.

Scope of Work

  • Bilateral engagement meetings conducted across 24 African countries
  • Co-Creation Workshops facilitated in 6 countries to localise implementation frameworks
  • Advancing the Africa EdTech Vision 2030 agenda at continental level
  • Leading deployment of the RESPECT platform — an open-source Digital Public Infrastructure for Education (DPI-Ed)
  • Developing the Policy Framework for Advancing Standards-Based Vendor-Neutral EdTech in Africa

Workforce Development International (WDI)

Joint Venture Partnership since 2024
Joint Venture AUDA-NEPAD ILO / TVET

In partnership with Workforce Development International (WDI) of Ghana, TETA has developed two major continental policy documents that are shaping education and workforce development across Africa.

Key Deliverables

  • Policy Framework for Advancing Standards-Based & Vendor-Neutral EdTech in Africa — commissioned by AUDA-NEPAD, currently at implementation stage across AU member states
  • Practical Guide to Youth Engagement in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) — commissioned by the International Labour Organization (ILO), providing actionable frameworks for youth workforce development

This partnership continues through a project-based Joint Venture (JV) agreement, combining TETA's African education ecosystem expertise with WDI's workforce development specialisation.

Mobiles for Education Alliance (mEA)

Research Partner LMICs Global Digital Courseware

TETA collaborated with the Mobiles for Education Alliance (mEA) to produce a landmark publication examining the status of digital courseware across Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).

  • Researched and developed 'Leading Perspectives on the Status of Digital Courseware in LMICs'
  • Synthesised insights from practitioners, policymakers, and technologists across the digital education ecosystem
  • Launched during the STEMtastic Adventure Africa 2025 in Kenya

The publication serves as a critical reference for understanding digital courseware gaps, opportunities, and best practices in resource-constrained education settings globally.
